Pre-K STEM Class
The Pre-K Engineering classes introduce our youngest engineers to fundamental concepts of engineering and what engineers are all about. During this session, students will use the engineering design process to undertake several engineering projects and hands-on explorations from disciplines like civil engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, some coding, and more.

Junior Digging for Dinos Adventures
There has been an amazing discovery! Paleontologists have just uncovered a million-year-old dig site that is full of fossils! These fossils include dinosaur bones, imprints, eggs, and more! Your child’s help is needed to excavate these fossils and move them to museums for kids all over the world to learn about.
In these lessons, students will learn about engineering, mathematics, dinosaurs, fossils, and Dino Bone Builder, while advancing their literacy skills through a variety of read-alouds. They will work as paleontologists and engineers while using the EFK Engineering Design Process to design and build solutions to a variety of engineering challenges.

Apprentice Civil Engineering Class – Strategic Structures
Put on your hardhat and get ready to raise the roof with the fun and excitement of civil engineering. In this camp, students will learn how to engineer while being mindful of the forces acting upon a structure, such as bending, compression, torsion, and shear.
They will learn that shape and materials selection are critical to the success of towers, beams & trusses, bridges, and highways. Each day, students will use the EFK Engineering Design Process to engage in captivating civil engineering challenges. This camp is sure to take learners’ curiosity and skills to new heights.

Apprentice Eco Force Engineering
As our world faces growing environmental challenges, engineers play a critical role in developing innovative solutions to protect our planet. Environmental engineers tackle issues like air and water pollution, renewable energy, and sustainable design to create a healthier future for all living things.
In this program, students will take on real-world engineering challenges, using their creativity and problem-solving skills to design systems that reduce waste, harness clean energy, and improve sustainability. Through hands-on experiments and collaborative projects, they’ll think like engineers, testing and refining their ideas to make a lasting impact on the world around them. They will embark on activities like Racing the Sun, Winds of Change, Clean the Air, and more.

Apprentice Civil Engineering Class – Strategic Structures
During the Civil Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a balsawood bridge designed to withstand the greatest force. They examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures. Students will use the Engineering design process to design and build a variety Engineering structures.

Apprentice Mechanical Engineering
Gear up for an exciting winter of mechanical engineering! In this camp, students will explore several of the mechanical forces that create movement in various machines. Students will work as mechanical engineers using EFK’s Engineering Design Process to create exciting, hands-on projects that spin, cascade, launch, pivot, dig, and race. These projects will demonstrate fascinating concepts, such as hydraulics, friction, velocity, aerodynamics, acceleration, and mechanical advantage.
